Conclusion of the Relief Printing Workshop Series (session 3)

April 21 2026

The Relief Printing Workshop Series concluded recently at Basin Arts. In this third and final session, the 23 participating artists completed their reduction blocks and performed the second printing.

Building on the technical foundations established in the earlier sessions, participants finalized their carving work. By carving, inking, and re-carving a single block, they executed the multi-stage process required to reveal their final image. Each participant successfully printed a small edition of their work, which incorporated the color layers developed throughout the series.

The program, led by artist Francis Pavy as part of the Heritage Artist in Residency, focused on the mechanics of printmaking, including color hierarchy and manual pressing. With this session, the participants completed the full reduction printing process, moving from initial concept to the final printed edition.
