Unveiling the Official 40th Anniversary Festival International Poster and Artwork by Francis Pavy

Lafayette, Louisiana | March 1, 2026

Today, the wait officially came to an end. In a city defined by its "Many Roots" and vibrant French soul, the visual identity for the most anticipated milestone in our community’s history has been revealed.

At the annual Premiere Party, Festival International de Louisiane and the Pavy family took center stage to unveil the Official 2026 Poster, Pin, and Original Artwork. As the festival celebrates its 40th year, these pieces—created by legendary artist Francis X. Pavy in collaboration with his daughter, Annabelle Pavy—now stand as the official symbols of this world-renowned cultural celebration.

Since being announced as the Official Visual Artist last year, the community has been buzzing with anticipation to see how the “Picasso of Zydeco” would interpret four decades of music, art, and heritage. The result is a narrative-driven masterpiece that captures the spirit of the South Louisiana "gumbo"—a sophisticated blend of history, rhythm, and mysticism.

“It's a great privilege to be chosen as the artist for the 40th year,” said Francis Pavy. “This festival is one of the heartbeats of our community, and to be chosen to capture that vibrant, multicultural energy for such a milestone is humbling.”

The 2026 reveal offered a unique surprise: the official poster and pin were a true family collaboration. While the original artwork was born from Francis’s signature style, the graphic refinement and typographic elegance were handled by Annabelle Pavy of Pavy Studio.

This partnership highlights the "multigenerational spirit" that has kept Festival International thriving since 1987. Annabelle, who was raised in this creative environment, brought her expertise in graphic design and illustration to ensure the 40th-anniversary assets are both timeless and modern.

From the intricate lines of the commemorative pin to the bold, evocative colors of the official poster, the reveal sets a high bar for the upcoming festival. This isn't just event branding; it is a sophisticated tribute to the diverse cultures that make Lafayette America’s French City.

Sylvie Wartelle, Vendor & Merchandise Director, noted the impact of the process: “It’s been incredible watching Francis and Annabelle bring this piece of art to life. The team wanted something unique this year, and this collaboration has provided an extraordinary opportunity for the Festival.”

The 40th Anniversary Poster and Pin are now available to the public. As we count down the days until the music begins in downtown Lafayette, we invite you to own a piece of this historic collaboration.
